The National Knowledge Commission is a high level advisory body to the Prime Minister of India, with the objective of transforming India into a knowledge society. We have focused on five key areas of the knowledge paradigm: enhancing access to knowledge, reinvigorating institutions where knowledge concepts are imparted, creating a world class environment for creation of knowledge, promoting applications of knowledge for sustained and inclusive growth and using knowledge applications in efficient delivery of public services. Over the last three years, NKC has made over 250 recommendations covering 25 focus areas ranging from school and higher education to e-governance and entrepreneurship.
